Afterlife

There are several versions of this painting that I’ve done over the years. Inspired by Salvador Dali’s St. John’s vision of Christ on The Cross. I’d seen a pencil drawing from a distance and at first thought it was a diagram of a uterus. I liked the idea of combining the themes of life and death as a cycle.

I no longer have any of the original paintings but I’ve started yet another version in oils in canvas, yet to be completed, but I have combined digital images to make prints.
