Leystede

For Leystede, ARTvertisements created three large-scale artworks centred around three themes: history, sustainability and dreams.

The works were developed through a participatory process, incorporating stories, ideas and visual material from within the school community.

This artwork explores the school’s rich and layered history, dating back to 1952. Over the decades, different schools, educational traditions, names and generations have become part of the building and its identity. References to the history of Mytylschool De Thermiek, which also shares the building, were incorporated into the composition.

Rather than presenting this history as a chronological timeline, ARTvertisements brought different periods, memories and visual references together in a layered collage – allowing past and present to coexist within a single image.
